Sananda Maitreya (AKA The Artist Formerly Known As Terence Trent D’Arby) will release his 12th studio album, Pandora’s PlayHouse, on 15 March 2021. The double album is released on his own label, TreeHouse Publishing, with the taster single The MadHouse available to stream and buy now.

The album will be his first since 2017’s Prometheus & Pandora and promises a heady mixture of rock, psychedelia, soul, and R&B. According to the press release, “The narrative presented over the 28 tracks takes inspiration from the Greek myth of its namesake, whilst reflecting the personal journey of Sananda’s career.”

Terence Trent D’Arby legally changed his name to Sananda Maitreya in 2001, explaining, “Terence Trent D’Arby was dead… he watched his suffering as he died a noble death. After intense pain I meditated for a new spirit, a new will, a new identity”.
