Devoted fans show us their collections and pop memorabilia
When did you first become a Superfan of your favourite artist and why do you like them?
My first memory of Madonna is singing along to Into The Groove in 1985 when I was six years old. I was fascinated by how she reinvented herself and over the years started collecting memorabilia. My collection grew from fitting in a shoebox to taking up a whole room in my house!
What do you have in your collection?
It’s really varied and includes records, magazines, autographs, posters, displays, even a top that she wore during her Reinvention Tour in 2004. As she has had such a long career, it is hard to keep up at times!
How much have you spent on your collection?
I honestly don’t know and it would probably scare me if I tried to add it all up.
What´s your favourite item in your collection?
A picture of my collection signed by Madonna. I was one of the winners of a competition run her fan club. If I sold my collection I could keep that as a memory of it!
Have you ever met your favourite star and what were they like?
I was at a drinks reception that she attended held at Claridges in 2011 for the premiere of her movie W.E. but was too scared to speak to her!
If you could ask your favourite artist one question – what would it be?
If only one song of yours remained as your legacy, which would you choose and why?
Is there one Holy Grail item of memorabilia that you would love to get your hands on?
I would love to own a copy of Island magazine from 1983, which was her first cover, but not only are they expensive, they are hard to find. I also dream of owning the light-up Dancing Queen cape she wore during her 2006 Confessions Tour!
