Echo & The Bunnymen set for 2023 Ocean Rain shows
By Classic Pop | December 7, 2022
In September 2023, Echo & The Bunnymen will perform a series of orchestral concerts celebrating their seminal album Ocean Rain.
Performing Ocean Rain in its entirety, they will be joined on stage by The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
These concerts will take place in Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena, London’s Royal Albert Hall, Usher Hall in Edinburgh and Nottingham Royal Concert Hall.
Ocean Rain was recorded in Paris with a 35-piece orchestra, produced by The Bunnymen and engineered by Henri Loustau – who spoke no English – with Adam Peters providing the string arrangement and playing both cello and piano; creating a dark ethereal aura throughout the album.
Considered not just Echo & The Bunnymen’s best album, but one of the defining LPs of the 80s, it spawned several hit singles in Seven Seas (No.16), Silver (No.30) and their masterpiece The Killing Moon (No.9).
Tickets are on sale Friday 9th December at 10am here and here.
