Kylie’s Hyde Park support acts announced
By Classic Pop | June 3, 2024
MARINA, Anitta and Altégo are the first artists named as Kylie’s Hyde Park support acts at BST on Saturday 13 July.
Revered since her breakthrough in 2009, MARINA has since has since released five acclaimed albums including Electra Heart (2012), which debuted at No.1 on the UK’s Official Charts, FROOT (2015), Love + Fear (2019), which debuted Top 5 in the UK and Top 10 on the U.S. Albums chart, and most recently Ancient Dreams In A Modern Land (2021), which featured the Ivor Novello nominated hit Man’s World.
Each of MARINA’s records have been accompanied by global sell-out headline tours with shows at some of the most prestigious venues around the world. MARINA is also set to be a published author, with her debut poetry book Eat The World: A Collection Of Poems out on 29 October.
Leading Latin American Artist
Since breaking through in Brazil with her debut self-titled album, Anitta has become the leading artist of a new generation of Latin American music, as the biggest ever global female popstar to come from Brazil.
In April 2019 she released Kisses, marking Anitta’s first trilingual album with songs in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. The record was nominated for Best Urban Album at the 2019 Latin GRAMMY Awards, with Anitta winning Best Female Artist at the Latin AMAs that same year.
Versions Of Me followed in 2022, including the single Envolver which reached No.1 spot on the Global Spotify 200 chart, making Anitta the first Brazilian artist to ever top that chart.
The album was the first Brazilian pop album to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify, breaking the record for the biggest Spotify debut by a Brazilian artist in the platform’s history with over 9.1 million streams. Anitta released her latest record, Funk Generation, earlier this year.
TikTok Twins
Altégo consists of UK-born twin brothers, DJ/production duo, Michael and Lukas Fernandes-Pense. The duo merge musical extremes together, striking a balance between dancefloor-ready energy, pop universality, R&B drip, and hip-hop swagger.
The pair initially lit up TikTok with their mashup of Daddy Yankee and Lil Nas X, Montero Gasolina, but it was their track Toxic Pony that blew up online in 2022, marrying Toxic by Britney Spears and Pony by Ginuiwine in a wild unholy matrimony. It eclipsed 130 million global streams and cracked the Top 10 on the Billboard R&B Chart.
Unforgettable Experience
Kylie said: “I can’t wait to return to BST Hyde Park this summer. My last appearance at this iconic event was in 2015 and it was a truly unforgettable experience. So excited to see you all again!”
More special guests to be announced.
The lineup for American Express presents BST Hyde Park 2024 is set to be truly spectacular, with headliners SZA (29 June), Kings of Leon (30 June), Morgan Wallen (4 July), Andrea Bocelli (5 July), Robbie Williams (6 July), Shania Twain (7 July), Stevie Nicks (12 July), Kylie (13 July) and Stray Kids (14 July), with the full line up for each day to be announced, and All Things Orchestral on 28 June.
