Alison Moyet shares reworked Filigree

Alison Moyet shares reworked version of Filigree from her upcoming album Key.

Alison Moyet’s reworked career retrospective Key, released on 4 October,  sees the singer revisit hits, fan favourites and deep cuts in order to create a cohesive set of songs separated by decades in their creation.

She has shared a new preview track Filigree, which first featured on the2013 album the minutes. Listen below:

‘Joy Is Like A Mayfly’

Speaking on the meaning of this song Alison says: “Sometimes in life, we are met with the overwhelming urge to leave, losing faith that the next corner reveals a gift of light. It takes the dark to name it. Joy is like a mayfly. It comes for minutes at a time. That’s what makes it remarkable.”

Co-written with Guy Sigsworth (Björk, AURORA), and originally presented as a glacial, unhurried electro-pop song, here it stands apart with its delicate and intimate folk arrangement courtesy of producer Sean McGhee. The recording features 5 x BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards winner Chris Wood on electric guitar, John Garden on piano and Ben Nicholls on double bass.

Key is available to pre-order here.
