Steve Norman and Carol Decker record Christmas classic
By Dan Biggane | November 29, 2024
Spandau Ballet’s Steve Norman and Carol Decker of T’Pau have come together to record a version of the seasonal favourite White Christmas.
Steve, co-founder of Spandau Ballet, said: “I was offered the chance to record a Christmas single in an ’80s style and I grabbed it with both hands. I didn’t feel like doing the single on my own, for me a duet would be much more fun. That person had to be Carol. Not only is she a fabulous singer, she still gives it edge. She’s also my mate, so off we went to Berlin to record our vocals.”
The T’Pau singer said: “I was contacted by my dear friend Steve Norman about duetting with him. I jumped at the chance as I’ve never recorded a Christmas song before. He is such a talented guy. I knew it would be excellent and I’m absolutely delighted with the mix. It’s got a lovely ’80s retro feel to it and it’s definitely a wonderful interpretation of a great classic.”
Steve added: “It was a very creative and pleasant experience. Chapeau to the recording team for its authenticity, the song sounds like it was lifted from an ’80s Christmas movie.”
